James W. McCriskin, D.O., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.P.

Dr. McCriskin specializes in adult cardiology. He was born in Plainfield, NJ. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force in 1990. He received his osteopathic medicine degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, earning recognition as a Graduate of Distinction. Dr. McCriskin is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. He is also Level II certified in Cardiovascular CT Angiography. Dr. McCriskin has been a part of IHLA since 1990, when the practice was formed, and serves as its Medical Director. He also serves as Medical Director for the Illinois Heart and Lung Foundation and is a principal investigator for the Illinois Heart and Lung Research Center, S.C. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and American College of Physicians (ACP) and a member of the American Heart Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), Illinois State/McLean County Medical Society, Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA), American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT). Dr. McCriskin and his wife have two children.
